"Our 16mm workshop will be on what we love doing - low cost and immediate forms of image (and optical sound) creation, playing with the possibilities of 16mm film projectors, taking advantage of the mechanics of the machines in film performances, discovering what you can do when you have several running together.
So, we'll start with the projectors as live instruments of performance (WORM has several Eikis and amazing Hokushins) and work backwards, through direct and immediate (hands-on) forms of image and optical sound creation, through darkroom printing of film, different kinds of copying techniques and possibly ending up with the camera. Early in the workshop we (Guy and Lynn) will perform some of our multi-projector works, which we have been touring under the heading 'Live Cinema', and will share our experiences of making and showing expanded cinema.
None of this is high-tech, just come with an open mind."
