A timely, cinema-scopic, Gursky like industrial scale archaeology of nuclear power - UNTER KONTROLLE features a beautifully aestheticised road trip through a maze of nuclear power plants, storage, control agencies, research and training facilities. Volker Sattel’s film recalls the past promise of a formerly utopian source of energy whilst quietly revealing the ludicrous efforts that this form of energy generation demands upon human beings. Very highly recommended.
