Unfortunately, due to delays we won't be able to open WORM for this weekend's events. GLOBAL MASHUPS will take place at the Heidegger venue, which is walking distance from the Boomgaardsstraat, please consult: Heidegger Rotterdam for directions. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you at the show regardless. (Props to the Heidegger crew for helping us out on such short notice!)

UK vs ARUBA vs TANZANIA vs FINLAND vs ARGENTINA: TRANSNATIONAL BASS!african hiphop, skweee, cumbia, dubstep / grime / uk garage crossover

STEVE RUTTA (X PLASTAZ)

Steve Rutta debuted at a festival in Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania) in 1999, when he still had the appearance of a six year old kid. His amazing rhymes however made a lasting impression which eventually brings him to Rotterdam for the first time! Rutta is a member of X Plastaz, a Tanzanian group, mixing traditional Masaai music and clothing with modern hip-hop.

RANDY BARRACUDA

Randy Barracuda was undoubtedly one of the first to bring skweee to the swampy Netherlands. He has been running the Harmönia label with associates for a couple of years now, bringing us diverse skweee artists from around the globe. Tonite he duels with Steve Rutta for the Global Mashup trophy.

ELGATO

One of the most prominent signings to Hessle Audio is UK’s Elgato. From the same camp that brought us James Blake and Ramadanman / Pearson Sound comes yet another amazing techno, dubstep, grime and uk garage crossover act. For fans of deep sub basses, cut up r’n’b vocals and grooving garage rhythms.

RONALD DIAZ

Ronald Diaz is a Guatemalan dj who started developing his skills at the young age of 13. He is influenced by Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, blending minimal techno with Latin American and African percussive elements. Diaz likes to call the outcome 'Afro-Techno' and is eager to let the Worm floors shake.

MATI ZUNDEL

Raised on rhythms of the Argentinian backwoods, Matias Zundel dips his dance tracks in country folk gold where chacareras, huaynos, and vidalas two step with jungle and electronica.

EL REMELON

El Remolón is the alterego of Andrés Schteingart, a producer who tucks hints of Latin American rhythms like cumbia into a solid base of electronic music. His sound is laid-back but heavy-hitting.

FELLOW

Aruba’s Michael Lampe a.k.a Fellow is a menace when it comes to tropical bass. His sound is jampacked with exotic rhythms, live sampling of carnival instruments, snarling analog synths and hyped vocal chops. Taking elements of socca, dancehall and kuduro, it’s an eccentric array of beats.
