George Kuchar was a legendary figure in New York's underground film scene and with his twin brother Mike, he produced a prodigious body of Super-8 and 16-mm films in the 1960s and 1970s, spoofing the Hollywood schlock that they’d devoured as kids. Epic soundtracks, lurid colours and a compassionate sense of the human condition is what set their films apart. Tonight we’ll show associate Bob Cowan’s wildly electric ROCK FLOW, George’s own ECLIPSE OF THE SUN VIRGINS and HOLD ME, WHILE I’m NAKED plus Mike Kuchar’s Craven Sluck.
The pope of DIY! After producing over 400 brilliant releases and hundreds of music videos from his own bedroom since 1968, R. Stevie Moore has been one of the most idyosincratic American pop music artist of the last decades. He has been a direct influence on other musicians such as Ariel Pink (with whom he recently recorded an album under the name Ku Klux Glam) and generations of creative songwriters. Moore has also worked with Jad Fair, Mike Watt and many others. His father, Bob Moore was a famous bassist and producer who worked with Elvis and Roy Orbison.
