With a screenplay from the Strugatsky brothers, who were notably also responsible for Tarkovsky's “Stalker”, a suitably synthetic analogue synth soundtrack from Sven Grünberg, and remarkably crisp, sun flecked, snow laden cinematography, the scene is set for a catastrophically sly, sci-fi take on a noir-esque detective story.
